We are so excited to announce the official start of our LYQ Appeal 2020, an online fundraising campaign that will culminate in an online presentation at 7pm on Saturday 23 May!

Usually at this time of year we're getting ready for our annual Brisbane Appeal Dinner but unfortunately gathering face to face is not currently possible. So instead what is usually our Brisbane Appeal Dinner is now coming to our community all online, with all of the best bits of the dinner to enjoy at home. The LYQ Appeal 2020 will include an online auction, raffle, live presentation, party packs, inspiring stories, photos challenges and more lined up for you to celebrate with us as we thank God for the past 12 months of growing in ministry together and working towards the future. Our team has been working hard to capture the essence of the dinner to share with our community and we are so excited to launch all of these elements of the dinner digitally!

LYQ Appeal 2020 - Get Involved

We don't need to tell you that this year is not like other years but you may not be aware that our ministry is struggling. As a ministry that is all about creating temporary community at events and camps, we've been hit particularly hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact until restrictions are lifted and we're able to elcome camps again to our campsites we'll be operating with little to no income. In many ways we need this annual appeal more than ever! BUT we also think the community needs this event too.. the opportunity to gather together, have some fun, hear some great ministry stories and make an impact in a unique way. One particular blessing this year is that the digital format will allow us to connect with community members far and wide, no matter where they are.

So, we invite you to get involved in this year's LYQ Appeal 2020. The first step is to register (for free) online here. When you register you might also like to purchase a Party Pack or some raffle tickets to go into the draw for a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 32GB! The festivities will then commence on Friday 1 May as we launch our online auction. The auction will conclude on Saturday 23 May during our online presentation. We've got a great list of items lined up already and it's likely that we'll be adding more as the auction unfolds.

The main online appeal will be held at 7pm on Saturday 23 May. A 60min online presentation, the LYQ Appeal 2020 will feature all your favourite elements from our annual dinner; inspiring stories, a great guest speaker and an update on all we've achieved together in the last 12 months! We will also conclude the online auction and draw the raffle.

Guest Speaker

This year we're looking forward to hearing from our guest speaker Talitha Eckermann. Based in Brisbane and long-time LYQ supporter, Talitha is passionate about drawing near to those on the fringes and extending the indiscriminating love of Jesus - something she picked up as an LYQ camper, volunteer and employee. Now as a youth worker for disadvantaged young people, it is her greatest desire to speak deeply to hearts about identity and belonging. It will be great to hear from Talitha alongside many other familiar faces who will be contributing to our premiere event, as we take a look at the ministry journey of LYQ in 2019-2020 and beyond.
