What a Crazy Time!

COVID 19 really threw us a curve ball this year! With restrictions making our normal Gala dinner impossible, we had to trust God had a plan for us and get cracking on an alternative!

Wow, and what a learning curve for our team! Coming up with an online auction software, liquor licencing, party packs, other ways we could still make the event successful and interactive...and so many more challenges!

What was most important though, despite the challenges, was to ensure that we could still share the stories of what God is doing to impact young people through Lutheran Youth of Queensland. Our team are blessed to hear these stories regularly and during these tough times we thought it was even more important to share them with the wider community… after the last few months we all need some good news!

So on Saturday night we were thrilled to share how God has been working through this life-changing ministry to impact the lives of Katelyn, Ashley, Nell, Shane, Jeremy and Talitha, our guest speaker. It was great to hear how God is using the LYQ team, even during these strange COVID-19 times, to support, encourage and disciple young lives.

Saturday night was also an encouragement for our team, with so many of our wonderful supporters navigating the new online format and generously contributing, even in these challenging and uncertain times. It was great to see how people were joining in at home, with friends and over zoom. We're blessed to be part of such a supportive and passionate community.

And thanks to the generosity of all who participated we were thrilled to exceed our target and raise $42,950 to support our ministry with young people in Queensland.  Thank you so much for your incredible support and generous donations! It’s so heart-warming to know that there are so many people out there who believe in the ministry of LYQ as much as we do!
